What was that again? Examining the SOTU
By Marielena Montesino de Stuart
I have no idea what President #Obama just said in his last #SOTU address. All of a sudden he started talking about “unconditional love”– along with a barrage of other statements that sounded like he was trying to cram a lot of ideas into a short amount of time.
The only thing that was significant was the fact that, as expected, he did not mention the ugly and painful breaking news about the ten U.S. sailors being held by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. Yes, the Islamic extremist Iranians that he has embraced with his appeasement deal. Oh… and of course, he patted himself on the back for embracing the murderous Communist government in Havana, Cuba. In case you didn’t know, the Iranian and the Cuban governments happen to be BFFs.
In summary, this State of the Union address was a depressing performance. Nothing made any sense. It is at times like these that our brains crave comic relief. So I started thinking how Obama’s speech sounded like the “Bishop” giving a sermon in the unforgettable film King of Hearts, by Philippe de Broca.
The video is set to begin at the Bishop’s sermon– if not, go to 51:37. Please click on CC button for Subtitles/closed captions. If you see “Hebrew” click on it and you’ll get English. Go figure. But I am grateful that S. Behams took the time to provide subtitles, so that English speakers can enjoy this great classic film.
It makes no sense, but sounds hilarious!
It’s time to lift the fog… someone has to say the truth.
