Why are the Boko Haram terrorist attacks in Nigeria underreported?

One expects that the mainstream media would show basic human concern and give the same degree of attention to terrorist attacks, regardless of where they take place. This does not appear to be the case.

During the last two days there have been terrorist attacks carried out by Boko Haram in #Nigeria, which have brought the death toll to over 80. Most of the victims are women and children– but this massacre does not appear to be newsworthy, given the anemic coverage that it is receiving– compared to the intense round-the-clock news coverage of the attacks in #Paris and San Bernardino.

Here’s a New York Daily News report (excerpt). Bold added for emphasis:

“A nurse at Maiduguri Specialist Hospital said dozens of critically wounded, mainly children and women, may not survive. The nurse, who spoke on condition of anonymity because she is not authorized to speak to reporters, said the hospital was so overflowing with patients that some had to be cared for in the maternity ward. About 60 people had wounds from bullets and shrapnel from explosive devices, she said. Other wounded people had to be sent to other hospitals in the city.

Among them was a baby found dead, still tied to the back of her mother, who survived after being hit by shrapnel, the nurse said.

It was hard to do a body count because so many had been blown into pieces, she said, describing torsos and dismembered arms and legs.”

While the world mourned the deaths in Paris, approximately 2,000 people died in Nigeria as victims of Boko Haram #terrorism. In spite of the enormity of the Nigerian massacre, it was underreported compared to Paris.

I understand that the territory controlled by Boko Haram is dangerous for journalists– and innocent local citizens have limited access to the internet. However, information is coming out with enough details to provide coverage, albeit with limited visuals. But of course, visuals are everything in today’s news business, which is more worried about ratings and the bottom line.

There is also doubt about the degree of transparency and assessment from the Nigerian government regarding these attacks, which followed last week’s statement by the very socialist Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari, that his government had “technically won the war” against Boko Haram. This scenario makes the Boko Haram Islamic extremist threat in Nigeria even more critical and newsworthy– for the sake of Nigerians, their surrounding countries–and the world!

It’s time to lift the fog… someone has to say the truth.

EVIL BEGETS EVIL: Terrorism seen through the eyes of a Cuban

Doing business with the Devil

By Marielena Montesino de Stuart

“… how can the international community do business for more than 50 years with Castro’s communist pro-terrorism regime?  Cuba has supported the most violent Islamic terrorists in the world, and until Obama’s recent “diplomacy,” Cuba was listed as a state sponsor of terrorism by the State Dept., in Washington DC. Specifically, the State Department determined that Cuba had “repeatedly provided support for acts of international terrorism”– along with Iran, Syria and Sudan.

If you have been watching the undercover investigative videos about Planned Parenthood’s massacre of babies and sale of their body parts, then by now you should have moved from the point of first impact and shock– to doing something to help stop it.

What have you done?

Have you contacted the U.S. Attorney General and petitioned that immediate law enforcement action be taken against the savages at Planned Parenthood?

Have you questioned your favorite or potential favorite presidential candidate about what he or she will do to put an end to these murders?

Are you sharing these videos with others?

The lives of innocent and helpless babies depend on Americans rising up (in a peaceful way) in their defense.

The ISIS-style massacre of innocent babies is again detailed in the latest undercover investigative video from the Center for Medical Progress.
